Facial FAQ's
What does a facial do?
A facial can have a lot of different benefits depending on your needs. For some, it's nothing more than a way to help mitigate damage to their skin, slow skin aging, and maintain a healthy complexion. For others, it's an act of self-love and a part of their routine that radiates a positive ripple effect into other areas of their life. For a lot of people, it's both!
Who should get a facial?
Almost anyone can get a facial, no matter what skin type you have. However, some medical conditions, recent injuries, surgeries, or cosmetic procedures may prevent facial treatment, so make sure to accurately report your health history in your intake form when you book! Everything I do is customized to your skin's specific condition and biological makeup. Whether your skin is sensitive, oily, dry, mature, dehydrated, none of the above, or multiple of the above, I can create the perfect treatment and home routine for you. When you come into Ripple, while I treat your surface level skin concerns, I am also providing an experience that I hope can help relieve some of your daily stress. For me, skincare is self-care, and it is my passion to help you incorporate both of those things into your busy lifestyle.
How quickly will I see results?
Well, the answer to this is tricky because everyone and every treatment is different! However, I can guarantee that your skin will feel immediately cleaner, softer, and more vibrant after every facial. In addition to the observable results, your mind will feel refreshed, your body will feel rested, and you will be more prepared to handle the hurdles that life throws at you. Every time you come in for your treatment, I will always have your best interest in mind. The most important thing to me is upholding the rapport and trust you have in me as my valued client. To maintain those things, it is my duty to make sure you are pleased with the progress we make with your skin. Consistency is key though, and the more faithful you are with your professional treatments here at Ripple, as well as your home care, the faster you will see results and the happier you will be with your skin!
What will happen during my facial?
Because every facial is customized, the steps of your facial will vary. However, for the most part, each facial will follow the same general formula:
1. Cleanse & Analyze
First things first, we have to start with a clean slate! I implement "double cleansing" into every facial. All this means is that we will start first with a cleansing oil which will help loosen any surface-level debris from the skin and remove any leftover makeup or skincare products. After that, I'll take a look at your skin and we will go over the information from your intake form as well as talk about what I see. This is so that we can make any adjustments to your service that we may need. After we customize the perfect treatment for you, I will conduct the second cleanse, which will be catered to your skin type and give a deeper, more targeted cleanse.
2. Exfoliate & Extract
This is where we really get deep. After your cleanse, I will go ahead and exfoliate your skin. I can do this with a myriad of different options, but I promise I will choose the right one for you. This is also where we will conduct any advanced resurfacing treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or dermaplaning. After exfoliation, I will do extractions as needed, which help to clear the pores and remove any blemishes that are ready to be removed.
3. Masque & Massage
Now that your skin is clean, it's time to relax. I will apply the masque that best fits your skin's needs, and it will sit for a few minutes. During that time, I will massage your shoulders, neck, and décolletage area. Once we remove the masque, I will also perform a facial massage to help with lymphatic drainage and blood flow. This is truly your time to relax and let your mind and body rest. It is not uncommon for clients to fall asleep by this point.
4. Serums & Moisturize
Continuing with the relaxation, I will apply hydrating serums and moisturizer to the skin. Serums drive deep into the skin and help to really combat aging, hyperpigmentation, breakouts, etc. so I will be sure to apply the perfect serum that will best suit your needs. Moisturizing is the final step of the facial, which will lock in all of the work we've done so far and give your skin a healthy glow. I will also apply SPF during this step as well, so that your skin is protected.
5. Recommendations
After your treatment, I will set out some home care and future treatment recommendations for you. We carry a wide array of Green Envee skincare on location and online. Home care is vital if you'd like to see the best results possible from the treatments you receive at Ripple. Remember, the journey to great skin is a marathon, not a race! Consistency in your treatments and at home is key to guaranteeing the best results. With the chaos we face in our daily lives, I know how difficult it can be to prioritize self-care. But I hope that coming in to Ripple can help inspire you to continue dedicating time to yourself at home.
